What Can Be Recycled?
Recycle Your Vapes manages the safe and responsible collection and recycling of disposable (single-use) and reusable (rechargeable) vapes, including e-cigarettes, batteries, and other components like pods and cartridges.
Protect the Environment
Vapes can contain harmful materials that may contaminate our ecosystem if disposed of improperly.
By recycling your vapes, you keep them out of landfills, preventing these materials from negatively impacting the environment and protecting wildlife.
Sustainability
Recycling vapes conserves valuable resources. Vapes and components, including batteries, metals and plastics, can be recovered and used in the manufacturing of new products.
By recycling, you help reduce the need to mine for virgin materials and contribute to a healthy circular economy.
Ensure Safety
Never throw vapes into the trash or regular recycling bins. Improper disposal of vapes, which may include hidden batteries, can lead to fires harming people, property, and the environment.
Recycling your vapes ensures that batteries and other components are handled safely and responsibly, keeping our communities safe.

WHY RECYCLE VAPES
Why should I recycle my vapes?
- Keep people and property safe. If vapes are improperly disposed of at their end-of-life, the batteries contained can short circuit or overheat and cause a fire.
- Keep materials that can negatively impact our landfill and waste stream.
- Reduces the dependency on virgin resources by capturing materials that can be recycled and reused as input for manufacturing new products, building a circular economy.
Is it illegal to throw my vapes into the trash?
Recycling is the safest and most responsible way to properly dispose of your used vapes and batteries. It protects your home, community, and the environment from fire safety risks and keeps materials out of our landfills, which can negatively impact the environment. The Government of Quebec’s Regulation Respecting the Recovery and Reclamation of Products by Enterprises now requires vape batteries to be recovered and responsibly recycled at the end of life. These batteries are considered hazardous waste material and must not be thrown in the garbage or regular recycling bin.
